you, me & everything in between. // you make the city feel like home. // what is there, then, if not us. // so many words, so little time. // every second a moment of painstaking brilliance. // but how far can we really travel without these stars to guide us home? // if only we could write the words, perhaps our hearts would follow. // the elementary truths, contained within a tiny, almost imperceptible vessel called existence
dustin kensrue - “christmas (baby please come home)” [2:37]
the church bells in town
oh, they’re ringing a song
what a happy sound!—
baby, please come home.
this is probably my favorite christmas song (together with ‘o holy night’). I first heard it on mariah carey’s incomparable ‘merry christmas’ album… but it’s dustin kensrue of “THRICE” fame, so, y’know… gotta love it (:
#3 - THE SOUNDS & SCENTS OF CHRISTMAS. (FF)
if I could retitle this post, I would name it “all the single reindeer.”
you first need to understand, reader, that I just got back from four months of awesomeness in the philippines. secondly, also be aware that in the Philippines, it is not uncommon to begin celebrating Christmas two to three months early.
case in point: one day in october, I walked into Watsons drug store at SM Baguio (a mall) to buy some goodies. I can’t remember if it was super-floss or bar soap I truly needed (or both). but anyway, suffice it to say that all throughout the store, a ridiculous mash-up of Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies” together with such endearing Christmas classics as “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” started prancing out of the speaker system. The unexpected mix featured the same instantly recognizable drumbeat as “Single Ladies,” but with your favorite Christmas lyrics & quarter-note jingle bells overlaid on the track. Like I said, completely unexpected.
if you liked it, then you should have put a sleigh on it.
whoa-oh-oh.
